Frequently Asked Questions

I have a big event coming up. How far out should I book my treatment?

Injectable treatments such as neurotoxin or filler should be scheduled a minimum of 4 week prior to an event. This allows adequate time for neurotoxin to fully set in with room to make dose adjustments if needed. This time frame also allows for swelling to subside and filler to settle/integrate, while leaving room for any adjustments.

Facial treatments should be started 4-6 months prior to an event. The closest to an event a facial should be scheduled is 4 weeks unless otherwise directed by the provider.

I’m new to Skin Radiance Aesthetics and/or the skincare world. What service should I book first?

Booking our “Radiance 60 minute customized facial” is recommended for first timers at SRA. This customized treatment allows your provider to analyze your skin and get a feel as to what conditions, treatments and skincare are suitable for you. This appointment will also allow you to ask any questions you have about your skin.

Do I need a Good Faith Exam before treatment?

For medical treatments such as filler, microneedling or neuromodulators, yes. In compliance with New Mexico law, every patient must have a Good Faith Exam (GFE) with our Nurse Practitioner, Katrina Olivas, FNP-BC, before receiving any injectable or medical aesthetic treatment. This is done via a secure telehealth appointment and ensures your treatment plan is safe and personalized. Instructions for scheduling your GFE will be provided prior to your appointment.

Who provides clinical oversight at Skin Radiance Aesthetics?

Katrina Olivas, FNP-BC is an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with experience in aesthetic medicine who serves as the Clinical Director for Skin Radiance Aesthetics.
